Welcome to ChopHub

The complete guide to turning long videos into viral short-form clips — automatically.

ChopHub uses AI to analyze your videos, find the most engaging moments, cut them into short-form clips, generate titles and thumbnails, and publish to all major platforms. This guide walks you through everything from your first upload to advanced features.

Quick Start Tutorial

Here's the fastest path from zero to published content. The entire process takes about 5 minutes.

1 Create your account

Go to app.chophub.io and sign up. The Free plan gives you 2 jobs per month with no credit card required. You can upgrade anytime from the Billing tab.

2 Upload a video or paste a YouTube URL

On the Upload tab, either drag-and-drop a video file or paste a YouTube URL. ChopHub accepts MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM, M4V, FLV, and WMV formats. Choose your preset — Vertical (9:16) for TikTok/Reels/Shorts, Square (1:1) for Instagram/Facebook, or Horizontal (16:9) for YouTube. Set your preferred clip length (20-60 seconds is recommended) and click Chop Video.

3 Review your clips

Switch to the Results tab to see your generated clips. Each clip has an AI-generated title, thumbnail, and caption. Clips are ranked by WOW Score — a composite viral potential rating — so the most engaging clips appear first. Hover over any clip to preview it with sound.

4 Connect your platforms

Go to the Platforms tab and connect the social accounts you want to publish to: YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), and Facebook. Each connection uses secure OAuth — ChopHub never sees your password.

5 Publish or schedule

Head to the Scheduler tab. Select a clip from the Available Videos panel, pick which platforms to publish to, and either click Publish Now for immediate upload or pick a date and time to schedule it. That's it — ChopHub handles the rest.

Tip: Record once, publish all week. Many creators record a single long video on Sunday and let ChopHub generate and schedule clips throughout the week across all platforms automatically.

Your First Chop — Step by Step

Choosing the right preset

Your preset determines the output aspect ratio. For most creators, Vertical (9:16) is the best choice — it works on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook Reels. If you're creating content primarily for Instagram Feed or Facebook, try Square (1:1). For standard YouTube or website embeds, use Horizontal (16:9).

Setting clip length

The sweet spot for short-form content is 20-45 seconds. ChopHub's AI will find natural breakpoints within your range. You can also set a target number of clips — the AI will pick the best moments to fill your quota.

Caption styles

ChopHub automatically generates burned-in captions. You can choose from styles like Classic (white with black outline), Bold Yellow, Modern Cyan, Neon Pink, Gaming Green, Elegant Gold, and more. Captions are generated using AI speech recognition and timed to word-level accuracy.

Understanding WOW Scores

After processing, each clip gets a WOW Score from 0-100 based on its viral potential. The score combines viral pattern detection (hot takes, controversy, reveals, wow moments), title engagement quality, content quality (duration, keywords, transcript depth), and wow factor bonuses. Clips are ranked from best to worst with tier badges:

Publishing to Platforms

Connecting accounts

Navigate to the Platforms tab and click "Connect" next to each platform. You'll be redirected to the platform's authorization page. After approving, ChopHub stores your tokens securely and keeps them refreshed automatically. You can connect multiple accounts per platform (e.g., multiple YouTube channels).

Publishing immediately

From the Scheduler tab, select your clip, choose platforms, and click Publish Now. ChopHub uploads to all selected platforms simultaneously and shows you the status in the Upload History panel.

Scheduling for later

Click a date on the calendar, select your clip and platforms, choose a time, and click Schedule. ChopHub's scheduler runs in the background and publishes at your chosen time. You can view, edit, or cancel scheduled uploads from the calendar view.

Note: Keep your platform connections active. ChopHub proactively refreshes OAuth tokens every 4 hours, but if you change your platform password or revoke access, you'll need to reconnect from the Platforms tab.

Uploading Videos

ChopHub supports two input methods:

Processing time depends on video length and your plan. A 10-minute video typically takes 2-3 minutes on the Pro plan with priority processing, or 5-7 minutes on the Free plan.

Results & WOW Scores

The Results tab shows all your processed jobs, newest first. Each completed job shows its clips as scrollable cards with thumbnails, titles, duration, file size, and deployment status indicators showing which platforms each clip has been published to.

Clips are automatically ranked by WOW Score so the most viral-potential clips appear first. Each clip card shows a rank badge with its position, tier emoji, and numeric score. Hover over the badge to see the full score breakdown including viral indicators like "Hot Take," "Controversy," "Reveal," and more.

Scheduler

The Scheduler provides a calendar interface for managing your publishing pipeline. The left panel shows available videos filtered by job, and the calendar on the right shows scheduled and completed uploads. Upload history tracks every publish attempt with status, platform, and timestamps.

Platform Connections

ChopHub publishes to five platforms:

The Free plan includes YouTube Shorts and TikTok. All paid plans include all 5 platforms.

Processing Credits

Processing credits represent minutes of source video you can process each billing period. A 10-minute video uses 10 credits, regardless of how many clips are generated.

Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. Unused credits do not roll over. You can track your remaining credits in the Billing tab of your dashboard.

Billing & Upgrades

All billing is handled through Stripe. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime from the Billing tab in your dashboard.

Troubleshooting

Processing seems stuck

Processing typically takes 2-7 minutes per 10 minutes of source video. If a job hasn't progressed in 10+ minutes, try clicking Retry from the Results tab. Pro and above plans have priority processing which is significantly faster.

Platform connection failed

Make sure you're using a supported account type (e.g., Instagram requires a Business or Creator account). Try disconnecting and reconnecting from the Platforms tab. If the issue persists, check that your platform app settings haven't changed.

Upload failed after scheduling

Check the Upload History panel in the Scheduler tab for specific error messages. Common causes include expired platform tokens (reconnect from Platforms tab), video format incompatibility with a specific platform, or hitting the platform's rate limits. ChopHub proactively refreshes tokens, but if you've changed your password on a platform, you'll need to reconnect.

Clips have no captions

Captions require audio in the source video. Silent or music-only videos won't generate captions. If your video has speech but captions are missing, the audio quality may be too low for transcription — try a source with clearer audio.
